Battle royale gameschallenge a player to search for weapons and armor and eliminate opponents while avoiding beingtrapped outside of a shrinking “safe area”. The winner is the last man standing. In what can only be described as anovernight success, PUBG dethroned CS:GO and Dota 2as the most popular game on Steam. It even managedto be the most viewed game on Twitch, knockingLeague of Legends down to the #2 spot for the firsttime in years. PUBG is one of the first games in historythat has more viewers than it has players.Fueled by the success of PUBG, major studios beganadding battle royale elements to their games.
