1 Talent in Asia 2020 Indonesia2 RGF Talent in Asia 2020 The start of 2020 brought Covid-19 to the globe, and thrust the world into a state of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA). This is also true within recruitment trends across Asia, with many employers taking a cautious approach to headcount and recruitment plans given the economic slowdown and unpredictable impact. Because of this, we have seen rapid changes in the way companies operate including adapting recruitment activities in this new normal. This pandemic has created opportunities to accelerate digital transformation both at work and at home. Flexible work arrangements have been implemented across most Asian markets and employers have had to provide the online technology to support this ongoing flexibility. At RGF, we have an unwavering commitment to unleashing the potential of every employer and job seeker we serve, and at our core is a strong belief that brighter futures are cultivated by ensuring the best match between employers and job seekers. During these challenging times, we are continuing to share our insights and knowledge with both employers and job seekers, helping them to navigate these new ways of working. That is why we are pleased to share this Talent in Asia 2020 report and provide the best data and insights to support talent decision-making. This report has been compiled based on two rounds of surveys. The first includes 4,600 employer and job seeker responses, diving into what candidates can expect when searching for a new career, and how companies are aligning with those needs across 11 key markets in Asia. In addition, we conducted an additional survey to understand how markets are responding to Covid-19 and how the pandemic might change the way they approach talent management in the future. This second survey was conducted in May 2020 across 9 key markets, and received more than 3,200 responses. I hope you enjoy the findings of this report and find it useful. A huge thank you to all the employers and candidates that took part in our survey, and we look forward to continuing work with you and being your trusted partner.
